Terms of service

Last updated 1 November 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Haske Solutions LTD ("TearDoc", "we", "us"), a company registered in Kenya at ABC Place, Waiyaki Way, Westlands, P.O. Box 3462-00506, Nairobi. They apply whenever you use TearDoc at teardoc.com.

By creating an account or using TearDoc, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

1. The service

TearDoc is a browser-based workspace for working on your own PDF and Word (DOCX) files. Tools include signing, filling, editing, converting, compressing, OCR, redaction, merging and splitting.

We keep improving TearDoc, so tools may be added, changed or removed over time. If we remove something you've paid for while your pass is still running, we'll offer a refund.

2. Your account

You need an account to use TearDoc. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that's higher.

Keep your sign-in details safe. You're responsible for what happens in your account. If you think someone else has access, tell us at admin@haskesolutions.com.

You can close your account at any time from inside the app. Your documents are then held privately for 30 days in case you change your mind, and deleted after that.

3. Acceptable use

Use TearDoc only for documents you own or have the right to work on. You agree not to:

  • upload content that's illegal, or that infringes someone else's copyright, privacy or other rights;
  • use TearDoc to get around passwords, copy protection or other restrictions on documents that aren't yours;
  • use TearDoc to host or distribute files to the public;
  • forge signatures, or use TearDoc to commit fraud or mislead anyone;
  • upload malware, or try to break, overload, probe or reverse-engineer the service;
  • resell or share access to your account.

If you break these rules, we may suspend or close your account. Where we can, we'll tell you first and explain why.

4. Your content

Your documents stay yours. We claim no ownership of anything you upload or create.

You give us permission to store, process and display your documents only as needed to run TearDoc for you (for example, to convert a file you asked us to convert). We don't use your documents for advertising, and we don't sell them.

Your documents are private to your account by default. Someone else can see a document only if you share it with them by name.

You're responsible for keeping your own copies of important files. TearDoc isn't a backup service.

5. Payments

Free tools

Some tools are free up to a daily limit. We'll show the current limits on the pricing page.

24-hour pass

The 24-hour pass is a one-time payment. It covers every paid tool on every document in your account for 24 hours from purchase. It doesn't renew, and we won't charge you again unless you buy another pass.

TearDoc Pro

TearDoc Pro is a subscription we plan to offer later. When it's available, it renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your account, and you keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for. We'll show the price and billing period clearly before you subscribe.

Prices and tax

Prices are shown on the pricing page. We may change prices for future purchases. A change never affects a pass you've already bought, and for Pro we'll tell you before a new price applies to your next renewal.

6. Our reseller

Orders from customers outside Kenya are processed by our online reseller, Paddle. Paddle is the merchant of record for those orders. It handles billing, payment, tax and customer service inquiries about those orders, including returns. Its own buyer terms also apply to your purchase.

Orders from customers in Kenya are paid in Kenyan shillings through our payment provider, Paystack, and Haske Solutions LTD is the seller for those orders.

7. Refunds

Our refund rules are in the refund policy. In short: a 24-hour pass is fully refundable within 14 days of purchase.

8. Availability

We work hard to keep TearDoc running, but we can't promise it'll always be available or free of errors. We may pause the service for maintenance or for reasons outside our control.

9. Liability

TearDoc is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we give no promises beyond those in these terms. Check every output before you rely on it, especially signed, redacted or converted documents.

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost data or lost business. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50 if that's higher.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or takes away rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country you live in.

10. Ending these terms

You can stop using TearDoc and close your account at any time. We may end or suspend your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we have to by law.

If we shut down TearDoc entirely, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice so you can download your documents, and we'll refund any pass that's still running.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Disputes go to the courts of Kenya, unless the law of the country you live in gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using TearDoc after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.
